Howard Miller is currently SVP, Director Tech Secure® Division at LBW Insurance. Howard is a highly motivated and creative expert in insurance, insurance consulting and risk management and a licensed agent since 1997 in property and casualty insurance. Howard provides complete insurance programs and advisory consulting with a specialty focus on technology errors & omissions, cyber liability and technology risk for a range of other industries including financial services, professional services, nonprofits and others.
Professional designations include Certified Risk Manager and Certified Insurance Counselor and Governance, Risk and Compliance Professional. Howard completed his Cyber Risk Professional Certificate in 2018 from Pepperdine Graziadio Business School. As a member of the member of the CyRP advisory board, he worked with the educational designer to provide and teach a piece of the course material. Published in July 2018 in Journal of Applied Business and Economics (ISSN# 1499-691X) volume 20 (3), 2018 “Developing a Framework and Methodology for Assessing Cyber Risk for Business Leaders” co-authored with Dr. Charla Griffy-Brown. The focus of the published article served as the capstone project for the Master of Science in Applied Analytics graduating class of 2018.
In 2016 and after 18 months of development and regulatory approval, Howard launched a first of its kind cyber-crime insurance product for business banking customers in collaboration with a financial institution which received worldwide press including Reuters. As part of the program he educated, spoke on panels and serviced bank customers. He was a service member of the American Bankers Association in 2017.
Howard is a board member of the non-profit Secure The Village which partnered with Pepperdine University for Cyber Secure LA 2018 and spoke at the conference. He has presented and spoke on panels dozens of times in the past several years with the FBI, information security leaders and executives regarding technology risk and cyber insurance. He has also produced two cyber security seminars.
Howard provides a unique combined skillset and experience in commercial insurance sales, cybercrime insurance product development, executive presentations, speaking and thought leadership in the area of risk management and insurance.
